The Visual Resources Association (VRA) is an international organization for image media professionals. Founded in 1982 by slide librarians and visual resources curators, VRA is concerned with creating, describing, and distributing digital images and other media, educating image professionals, and developing standards. VRA developed the VRA Core metadata standard for describing works of visual culture and the images that document them, widely used in museums, libraries, and archives.
