The STAC (SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog) Community develops and maintains an open specification for describing geospatial data assets in a standardized way. STAC provides a common language for indexing and discovering satellite imagery, point clouds, data cubes, and other spatiotemporal datasets, making them searchable and accessible through consistent catalog and API structures.
