The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is a multidisciplinary professional engineering institution with over 156,000 members in 148 countries. Formed in 2006 from the merger of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institute of Incorporated Engineers (IIE), the IET publishes technical standards, journals, and the INSPEC bibliographic database covering physics, electrical engineering, and related fields.
