Standards Body Active
The DDI Alliance is an international membership standards body that develops and maintains the Data Documentation Initiative (DDI) family of specifications. Begun in 1995, the Alliance brings together data professionals from around the world to produce XML and RDF standards for documenting surveys, questionnaires, statistical data files, and social science research metadata. Its primary products include DDI-Codebook and DDI-Lifecycle, which are widely used by statistical agencies, data archives, and research organizations globally.
