Dublin Core Metadata Initiative
DCMI
An open forum promoting innovation in metadata design and best practices for interoperable resource description.
The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) is an open organization that supports innovation in metadata design and promotes best practices for interoperable metadata. DCMI maintains the Dublin Core Metadata Terms, one of the most widely adopted general-purpose metadata vocabularies in the world. Through consensus-driven working groups, global conferences, and educational outreach, DCMI fosters the development and adoption of metadata standards across libraries, archives, government, education, and the web.
