An open technical standards body for establishing the provenance and authenticity of digital content.

The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) is a Joint Development Foundation project that provides an open technical standard for certifying the origin and history of digital content through Content Credentials. Founded in February 2021, C2PA brings together technology companies, media organizations, and other stakeholders to combat disinformation by enabling verifiable provenance metadata for images, video, audio, and documents. The C2PA specification is closely associated with the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI), which promotes adoption of the standard.
