The Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative is a United States government program that conducts research and development on distributed learning technologies and coordinates related efforts across public and private organizations. Operating under the Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), ADL serves the entire US federal government and maintains a global partnership network. The initiative is responsible for major e-learning interoperability standards including SCORM and the Experience API (xAPI).
